Healthy heart, happy home.
Ethically bred Cavaliers
We know Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are prone to certain genetic conditions—which is why we go above and beyond to ensure every puppy is set up for a long, vibrant life. Our breeding program prioritizes heart health (including cardiac testing and auscultation), eye exams, patella evaluations, and genetic screening for conditions like episodic falling and syringomyelia.
✦ Elysian Legacy
Devotion, refined by nature
At Elysian Cavaliers Home, we raise Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as beloved family —
not inventory. Every puppy is born into warmth, early neurological stimulation, and
rigorous health screening (cardiac, patella, genetic panels). Our goal: healthy hearts,
silky coats, and temperaments that melt into yours.
We believe in transparency without clutter. Each Cavalier comes with full vet records,
OFA-ancestral testing, and a lifelong breeder promise. No kennels, no compromise —
just royal companionship, raised with integrity.
✦ Heart-first breeding — All breeding pairs undergo cardiac auscultation,
eye & patella exams, and genetic screening for CM/SM. We share results freely.

✦ Royal Bloodline
A spaniel born for kings
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel traces its roots to 17th-century England, where
it was cherished by royalty — most notably King Charles II, who refused to go anywhere
without his beloved toy spaniels. So deep was his devotion that he issued a royal decree
allowing his Cavaliers in any public space, including the Houses of Parliament.
By the 19th century, the breed nearly disappeared after crossing with flat-nosed
Asian breeds. But in the 1920s, an American named Roswell Eldridge offered a prize
to revive the “old-style” spaniel — longer muzzle, flat skull, and that unmistakable
gentle expression. Breeders answered the call, and by 1945, the Cavalier King Charles
Spaniel was officially recognized as a distinct breed.
✦ Did you know? Cavaliers are often called the “love sponge” of dogs.
They were bred solely for companionship — no hunting, no guarding — just pure,
unwavering devotion to their humans. That same gentle spirit lives in every Elysian
Cavalier today.
